All requests for permission must be directed to Rutgers University Press via e-mail, fax, or in writing. Permissions requests will be neither accepted nor granted verbally.

If the requested material is part of an anthology, please check the copyright page, acknowledgments, or first and/or last pages of the desired essay in the book for the original rights holder’s copyright information. If the material is credited to another source, please contact the third party directly.

The rights to most illustrations used in books copyrighted by Rutgers University Press are not held by the Press, but by the owner of the image. Please check the acknowledgments or the credit line under each image to determine the original rights holder. Please request permission from the acknowledged third party directly.
